The name SquarO stands for "Square" , which refers to the grid, and "O" for the circles on the intersections.

It was born in 2006 by a game addict, found of puzzle games. In fact it's a mixed of three distinct famous games :

  • The squares come from Sudoku
  • The circles come from Go, a bord game for two players who alternately place black and white stones on the vacant intersections of a grid
  • The rules and the strategy are quite similar to minesweeper

All of this are the recipe of an elegant game, with very simple rules. The first grids can be solved by everyone but the hardest ones could make you crazy !
